Meet the Doctor

Paul Hwang, DDS

Dr. Paul Hwang was born in South Korea and immigrated to the United States at the age of 14 months.  He graduated from Calvin College with Bachelor of Science with dual majors in Biology and Philosophy with a minor in Biochemistry.  It was here that he met his beautiful wife Beth.  He continued his education at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor School of Dentistry where he graduated in 2004 with honors and immediately began his residency in orthodontics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry and earned a Master of Science from the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies.

In his spare time, Dr. Paul enjoys golfing, playing music and spending time with his family.  He plays the electric guitar and acoustic guitar and currently is the lead guitarists for the band Charuba which has been the featured guest on the Mitch Albom Show on three separate occasions and performs live regularly in the Metro Detroit Area.  The band has released three albums to date which are available at iTunes and CD baby.

Dr. Paul is licensed to practice orthodontics in both Michigan and Ohio.  He is also an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and Michigan Association of Orthodontists.  He is proficient in various modalities of orthodontic treatment.  He is fluent in Korean and English.

Dr. Paul’s motto is “what you see is what you get.”  His easy and transparent demeanor with the patient and parents will make treatment both fun and successful.  He values the well-being of his patients as his highest priority and his commitment to treatment quality, success, and experience is second to none.
